Trends Come and Go
This is my review of what's popular in the fiber artist world. Full disclosure, there will be some biases for my personal taste, after all, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Let's get started!
Pencil Skirts
Make them maxi, midi, or knee-length. Open, lacy designs and minimalistic patterns are key to elevate these skirts.

Scrunchies
Every girl loves a scrunchie! The sun is out, it's warming up, and everyone is putting their hair up and off their shoulders.
Mesh It Up
Square, circular, and freeform mesh items such as shrugs, shirts, and skirts overlaying simple fabric.
Collared/Polo Shirts
Can't leave the boys out; after all, this is a blog focusing on clothing and accessories for the little man in our life.

Maxi Dresses - Granny Square Style
One thing that will never go out of style are granny square maxi dresses. The possibilities are literally endless as you can mix and match colors and stitch patterns within the granny squares. Some artists have even taken to mismatched sizes of granny squares to further stylize their dress.

Maxi Dresses - Lacy Style
Lace or openwork styles are becoming increasingly popular as part of the return of festival wear. The average person may have often thought of knit (and crochet) items only when winter arrives. As cool weather sets in, every woolen article of clothing comes out of storage or is sought after in stores. however, fiber artists are proving that with some selective yarn choices, you can wear crochet and knit pieces all year round! I live in a sunshiny area most months of the year, so I tend to gravitate towards lighter yarns like cotton, bamboo, and some acrylics. Choosing a lightweight yarn is also key to creating lightweight pieces, as most openwork patterns utilize clusters of stitches to create a pattern. the bulkier the yarn, the heavier the garment will be.

Market Bags
Farmers markets are becoming a regular part of many people's weekend routines. In order to increase sustainability efforts, many consumers have turned to reusable market bags. I have a few large reusable bags that I bring on every grocery trip. Saving myself the "bag fee" and saving myself a bit of time from trashing all those small bags. Now, crocheting a bag can be a bit difficult because yarn is not static. There are many ways you can stiffen the bag such as:
Doubling or tripling up on yarn
Using a bulky or super bulky yarn
Adding wire or pipe cleaner
Use of stiffening or hardening chemical agents
